Under the new lockdown regulations announced on 14 May 2021, places of worship are able to open subject to limits on numbers, based on safe capacity with physical distancing,  and other precautions. Travel to attend services is explicitly permitted including between different areas.
The attendance limit at weddings and civil partnership ceremonies and receptions, and funerals and related events in Levels 2 and 3 has been raised to 50 people. Note that there are much lower limits for events in private homes. In all cases 2-metre physical distancing and face coverings are mandatory.
