Mike Beral: Programme Manager

Mike has had a life-long association with the Jewish community, including numerous roles at The Liberal Synagogue Elstree (TLSE), and co-chair of the prestigious Liberal Judaism Biennial Conference four times. After retiring from a career in IT at the end of 2018, Mike started using the skills of one of his hobbies, videography, for the benefit of a number of charities. At the start of the pandemic this pivoted to the needs of streaming and latterly, to hybrid events. Mike delivered the streaming for the 2020 joint High Holyday services for four Liberal communities, then installed and commissioned TLSE’s streaming equipment in their shul building and trained volunteers to use it, and most recently ran the technology for their hybrid High Holyday services from a local Jewish school.

Samuel (Sami) Zerovabeli: Technical Assistant, Glasgow & West of Scotland

Sami has a degree in business studies and has worked with a number of charitable organisations since graduating. He has experience in working with the Jewish community in London, and is enthusiastic about Jewish Scotland Connected. He moved to Glasgow in August 2021, and is excited to discover more about Scotland's natural beauty.

Adam Schwartz: Technical Assistant, Edinburgh & East of Scotland

Adam, who comes from Montreal in Canada, is a recent Master of Fine Arts graduate in Animation from the University of Edinburgh College of Art. He comes from a big Jewish and diverse community, and is enthusastic about the opportunities Jewish Scotland Connected provides to facilitate connections between Scotland's Jewish Communities.

Fiona Frank: Project Consultant and Zoom Trainer

Fiona joined SCoJeC in 2011 as Projects and Outreach Manager, and retired from that post in Autumn 2020. The last thing she did on the day she retired was to post the funding application for Jewish Scotland Connected! She returned to SCoJeC in 2021 to oversee the recruitment process for the project, and is staying on to deliver training in how to use Zoom to its best advantage. During the pandemic Fiona was responsible for putting all of SCoJeC’s events online, including a concert in March 2020 that attracted an audience of over 600 people from 28 countries, and for establishing an online Scottish Jewish Art Club that enabled Jewish people in Scotland who shared a common interest to connect during lockdown, and enjoy a range of fascinating speakers. She also set up the online Scottish Jewish Climate Network. She  ran weekly Zoom training sessions for SCoJeC during 2020, and since retirement has been delivering Zoom training to help community groups get the best out of Zoom meetings, and leading Zoom tech teams at Klezmer music festivals and other events.
