Shavuot

Shavuot (meaning “Weeks”, because it falls seven weeks after Pesach) commemorates the revelation of the Torah to Moses on Mount Sinai. It is the second harvest festival in the Jewish calendar. It is often celebrated by eating dairy products, remembering the description of Israel as “a land flowing with milk and honey”, and many Jewish people spend the whole night studying the Torah.
