The Jewish Community in Scotland
pays tribute to HRH the Duke of Edinburgh

9 April 2021

HRH the Duke of Edinburgh

On behalf of the Jewish Community of Scotland, we offer our deepest sympathy to Her Majesty the Queen, Charles Duke of Rothesay, and all the Royal Family on the sad passing of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.
We acknowledge the support that Prince Philip gave to numerous charities and good causes throughout his long life, both within the Jewish Community and more widely, and recall his visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Centre to plant a tree in honour of his mother, Princess Alice, who sheltered a Jewish family in Nazi-occupied Greece and was honoured as one of the Righteous Among the Nations.
We pray that these memories will be a comfort and a blessing for the Royal Family, for the nation, and for the Jewish Community.
