Purim with SCoJeC in Lochaline

February 2013
Purim in Lochaline

Fourteen people attended SCoJeC's Purim party in Lochaline, organised by our first volunteer Local Ambassador, Linda Martin.

Purim party in Lochaline

One lady who moved to the Strontian area with her husband only two years ago, arrived bearing home-made Hamantaschen, freshly baked cake, and home-made wine, to enjoy her first Purim party for some ten years! The event was also attended by several non-Jewish people with an interest in learning about Judaism and the local Jewish community. Following the reading of the Megillah (the Biblical book of Esther), prayers were said for peace amongst the nations, and an end to genocide.

If you are Jewish (or Jew-ish), live in the Lochaber or Mull area, and would enjoy participating in our next event, please contact Linda (linda@scojec.org) or Fiona (fiona@scojec.org).
